| 2009 Showdown In Motown General Rules 1) Rules will follow MAHA Rule Book along with USA hockey rules. 2) 15-second face off rule (puck will be dropped 15 seconds after whistles) 3) Ice will be resurfaced before every game (Except U16& Midget Major after 2nd period) 4) All teams will play 3-16 minute periods (Except U16& Midget Major 15 minute periods) 5) When score is 5 of more goals, in the 3rd period time will run until score becomes tied. 6) Mouth guards are not mandatory for Canadian teams. 7) No checking in 98,99,2000 8) No more than plus 7 per game 9) No time outs Tie Breakers -Total Points -Head to head -Plus/Minus of all games -Least amount of goals in all games -Most goals in a game -Coin flip Semi-Finals & Finals In semis or final games, five minute overtime will be played. If teams are still tied a five-man shootout will be done simultaneously. If no winner 5 new shooters until a winner is determined. You must use all players before a player can be used again. There will be scoreboards at Great Lakes Sports City . You must call John Kay (313)-655-1010 to make arrangements Saturday evening to find your schedule on Sunday. Tournament office will be located at Great Lakes Sports City. You must go to the tournament office before your 2nd games on Friday and bring your roster. All teams from out of state must call John Kay with hotel information by April 24, you need hotel name and number of rooms and nights staying. |
